Oscar Boada is a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music in Choral Conducting. He is the Head of Music at IPSI School (Institució Pedagógica Sant Isidor) and director of the COR VIVALDI: Petits Cantors de Catalunya(The Vivaldi Choir: Young Singers from Catalonia). |

He is an excellent accompanist with an extensive knowledge of symphonic-choral repertoire and was the official pianist for the Orfeó Català from 1985 to 1998 and assistant chorus master in the year 1997-1998. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras including the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Suisse Romande Orchestra and the Orchestra of Galicia, not forgetting Catalan orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra of Valles, the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands and the National Orchestra of Catalonia. He has also had the chance to work as a pianist with the most important contemporary conductors, such as S. Comisiona, Z. Metha and M. Rodetzvensky and has conducted the Moldavian Chamber Orchestra, the Maresme Chamber Orchestra and the National Chamber Orchestra of Andorra among others. He received a special mention for music in the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize in 1999, he won the Reus Prize for composition for young voices and came third in the Concorso Internazionale “Marielle Ventre” per direttori di Coro. He is on the panel of judges at the International Music Festival of Cantonigròs. Recognised as one of the most outstanding specialists in young female voice choirs and author of several educational books about the teaching of music in schools, he is often invited to courses, conferences and international meetings. He has made the COR VIVALDI into a national reference point by winning important international prizes and receiving highly favourable reviews and comments whilst on tour in different European countries, as well as in Argentina and the United States of America.
